This happens to every human being who owns a computer, after
1 or 2 years... his/her PC is out of date... ancient... canned... antique...
you know what I'm talking about... old! Every day new versions of hardware
appear, making the ones we have seem useless and making us angry or say
"Why couldn't I wait another week?". Well, almost no one can predict what
new products next week will bring... some people try but they can't be
absolutely sure what microelectronics has to show.
You don't have to worry... just buy a system suitable
for you but don't forget to mention that you want it to be "upgradable"
so that when all those companies start launching their new hardware, you'll
be able to obtain it without making any further expenses.
You'll notice that when you leave your computer as it is
for over 2 - 2,5 years, you can't really upgrade it after... but buying
a new one seem like the ideal solution (keeping your hard disk(s), screen
and maybe sound blaster). That's the thing with computers.. You have to
stay in fashion or you're out of the game... though, imagine a world where
you can't upgrade.. everyone has the same computer as the one next door..
sounds boring, doesn't it?
Don't forget this tip: When you buy a Personal
Computer, choose a big store which can give you guarantees for your machine
and for the upgrade it will eventually need, or else
you're doomed.. (trust me, I've been there). Don't change stores halfway
and go somewhere else than the place where you bought your PC from because
two things could happen: a) The new store could suck and you'll have to
go back to your old one which will cancel its guarantee because someone
else opened the pc besides them and b) The new store could be just fine
but the old one could have left your hardware in a mess so the new technicians
would be confused, without a clue what to do so they'll probably propose
you to buy a new system.
The only thing you can buy from a new hardware store,
is a new computer... never forget that and you won't have any problems
with your machine.
